Do Britisch doctors in Spain accept my British health insurance?
Most British doctors in Spain have a private practice. This means, that most of the times you have to pay directly in the practice and receive an invoice. The British insurance companies are not obliged to cover these costs. Although most insurance companies will at least cover them partially. To avoid bad surprises, you should ask each doctor before the exam about the payment procedures. If your stay in Spain is permanent or of a longer nature, an addtional insurance in Spain is advisable.
